The 6k Service

I just got a quote from my yamaha dealers for the 6K mile service they came back with £200......

Not excatly everthing as i do alot of stuff in general maintence, but it will be the definate oil & filter change..

Will the warranty be affected if you do-it-yourself or is the warranty not worth the paper it's written on?

Mine needs the second service soon, but the bike has only covered 1650 miles. This should be a cheap service as only oils need doing or is there anything else mentioned in the schedule?

Mine has low mileage (5000mls -2014) and it gets a 'minor' service by the Yam dealer.

AFAIK, the 6,000 mile service is pretty much an oil change and safety check - hard to see how they justify £200 for that.

Maybe OK if you want to maintain the warranty otherwise I can't see why most people wouldn't do it themselves.
