Plastic stuck to headers

Yesterday I was out riding and a plastic bag blew in front of me and attached to the bike, by the time I got stopped the black plastic was melted onto one of the headers.

Any ideas on how to get it off?

I would have thought a long run would melt it, then when it cools it will become hard and brittle and should just rub off

I had a similar issue...ended up taking a burnzomatic (sp?) torch to the area, reheating it to beyond melt stage, and then quickly scrubbing it off with a steel wool. Looks as if nothing ever happened. Good luck!

I thought so too, some of it came off when I rubbed it with a rag while hot but there's still quite a bit left.
