LED Indicator Help

So i ordered some Nano Indicators and inline LED resistors to correct the flash rate. This is only for the rear, because of my new small numberplate makes the stock indicators look MASSIVE. Anyway, this is what arrived and i don't know what to do with it lol. Its not what i ordered. But can i use it?

Yes that looks like ones I have on my bike. Bit of a twat sorting the the wiring out but it shud work. Have u got the same going on the front?

hmm OK thanks!. I'll see how bright / good the indicators are and perhaps order another set. M&P are supposed to be sending me the correct items now, so hopefully they will arrive. If the Indicators are good, i'll get a set for the front.

Yes you can. They fit at the connection between the bikes main wiring loom & the indicators, one resistor for each indicator you're fitting. One yellow wire to the positive from the main loom, the other to the positive on the indicator. You'll need to piggy back another wire off the black earth wire so you have one to go to the respective earth's on the same side (alternatively, strip the insulation away halfway along it & fold it in half & add a connector on there, the other at the end).
If you get LED indicators for the front as well you can remove the resistors & fit a flasher relay designed to work with them - much neater :)

anyone know where the flasher relay is and how many pins on it? you can buy cheap led relays now once you know how many pins you have on the stock 1

These Nano indicators really are tiny!! Will have to use a different bracket.

No worries. You've got the Yam tail tidy haven't you? It has brackets included for aftermarket indicators & you can adjust how far out from the number plate they sit.
 
Guys, would it make sense that the resistor i have is wired as follows. Black to earth, then 1 yellow sliced into the left indicator positive and one spliced into the right? Had an argument with M&P yesterday who can't supply what i paid for or send these back for free. So i'd like to use one. they seam to think its the same as the 4 wire resistors but you only need 1 earth.

think of it as a light bulb, 1 live and 1 earth. the yellow is live. push the yellow end into the live on 1 indicator with the indicator on, stick the black on the earth side or the frame and the flash should slow down.push the other yellow in the other side n check again. 1 earth is enough. if youre happy with the result then solder them in. i soldered lightbulbs under the seat on my ER as it was easier than trying to translate the word 'resistor'.

Just to clarify, you need one resistor for each LED indicator you fit, ie; 2 x rear LED indicators = 2 resistors. Looking at your photo of the resistors, you have 2 yellow wires (live) & 1 black wire (earth) on each one. They're a bit cheap as the earth normally has another wire piggy backed off it to give you the right amount of connections for each side, so it looks like you'll have to do this yourself. Each resistor is wired inline
between the bikes wiring harness & the indicator itself. If you're having a bit of difficulty with this, PM me your phone number & I'll give you a call over the weekend.
