I've done over 1500 miles with the new tensioner fitted with no problems at all and it is an S2...! Very strange

new cam chain tensioner installed

hi guys,

i thought i just needed to share this... if it's useful for you...

i went to my local dealer here in sydney saturday 26th april for the first service plus telling them about the 'worldwide known' cam chain tensioner rattle and waited for about a week before today, i got the new tensioner installed. so far... so good... bike has only done 1200 km. will let you guys know how it goes.

the old tensioner has S2 mark on it and the new one has S1. no idea about the difference but most of our friends in the US seem to have problems with S2 tensioners...

Well I was there when we took my old one out which was S1 and put the new one in which is S2 and that was over 1500 miles ago.

i think only some parts bloke in Japan truly knows, whats the white dot all about too? has that any significance? I think that the best way to see this is as follows, rattle noise= get new tensioner from Dealer, no rattle=be happy and hope it don't rattle.
