honestly chap you should see them out there, i took my ER6 to kawasaki to get some preload wound on the TSS rear shock on my bike (its made in thailand and should be spelled T O S S) cos i didnt have a long bar to fit on the adjuster ring. it took 3 'technicians' an hour to adjust it. they took it off the bike (?) and then 1 stood on it while the other 2 chased it around on the floor trying to turn the adjuster. in the end i ordered them to put it back on and get out the way while i found a bit of tube and wound a few turns on the spring...............i cried when they did the 12000 service a year later.
i dread to think what will happen if the MT gets warranty problems..........
Took mine in yesterday.. they will adjust it next week ! I politely asked them not to bother and just change it , but Yams orders they must try adjustment first ! Will take it straight back when it does not work and will be somewhat less politeOn a different not , they sold ALL MT07s in a few days !
This is complete bullshit! my dealer had not even seen my bike or listened to it, I phoned them and said I have cct issues and I got a noise can you get in a new modded tensioner please and they did, then I went in and they fitted it for me.

ERM…….Mine has stopped rattling. Had a 'Spirited' ride home from work friday night. By the end of it, i though the rattle had stopped but i was half deaf from the Akrapovič bouncing off every building in LondonBut sure enough today, the noise has gone!
They did tell me that they have had some move onto the next 'click' on their own, without being adjusted. I guess mine did. No point going to all the inconvenience of dropping the bike off to Yamaha tomorrow, for them to agree the rattle has stopped lol.
Thanks for the info TT .Anyone know new part number so i can biro it on salesmans forehead ? Mine was doing same crotch, will go a few weeks quiet , then start rattling again. Pisser , it would be easier if it just stayed rattly, they could not try bullshit then !
If u can wait till tomorrow Birdy I will speak to my man and get the superseded number for u?!
MT-09 Wheelie Wheelie mental.....!

Cheers TT, god bless your man in the trade ! lol
Just an update, After self adjusting last week, the noise came back this weekend. Its booked in for a new tensioner this saturday at Woking Yamaha. They put a warranty claim in.
A little bit off topic - does anyone know what could be rattling on the left side? Is there a chain or some bearings that might malfunction? Today on my way home the rattling was pretty loud, even getting a bit scary. I hope something doesn't grind down and destroy the gearbox or god knows what.
I don't quite know how to explain the noise but it's like a loose bearing ball rattling around an empty can and it's most pronounced at 3-4k revs. It started when they replaced the camchain tensioner a few weeks ago and has been getting louder and louder since.
Here's a quick video I took today - http://youtu.be/6SPNibnLux0. It's very hard to hear it but it's the high pitched noise. I think you can hear it the best when I'm standing up at around 0:27-0:29.

Yamaha Woking seem to believe the CP3 engine is a 'noisy' engine. But i too have a 'knock' on the left hand side. Mostly when cold, but i'll point it out to them. Im also not too impressed with the clutch so will get them to check that too.
