    Newbie

Hi all, just joined, i looked at this forum back in June, before i bought my mt09 sr abs, I read all about it and still bought one, i read about the flash's etc,I have done about 1600 miles on it now and it is a fun bike, tank range is a bit limiting but there are plenty of petrol stations...

    First service done (1000km)

So today I got my bike back from its 1000km service, almost run-in now (1300km, 300 to go). This service was not cheap (300€/220£), but I guess it's just something you have to deal with. Going in to service I did not expect much, oil change and some inspection items and maybe some adjustments, I...

Autralian Restricted model MT07. The hidden restrictor. Removal

I have the Australian restricted model MT07. I reflashed the ECU and have Akra snail pipe and DNA filter and the throttle rotation restrictor was removed, but the dyno run revealed sill only 54rear wheel HP. Now the reflash was to Euro spec so the only difference should be the 655ccrelarive to...

    A Mode

I have had my 09 for over a year now and I am slowly getting it to a great bike, so far the suspension has been changed to Ohlin’s rear and Andreani front cartridges and all set up by FTR Suspension. H & M quick shifter, a great sounding Leo Vinci full exhaust, and Pirelli Supercorsa’s. The...

    New member saying hi

Hello folks, I'm Matt from Doncaster UK and at the moment I ride a Street Triple R, but it's not the most comfortable of things on longer rides and a recent 4 day weekend pointed out that it is pretty limited for carrying luggage or a pillion. Both together means the pillion wears a rucksack. I...

    Steady throttle makes bike jerky

Hi all, First I'd like to salute you all - looks like an amazing community you have here. Now to my problem. I've noticed that when I'm holding a steady throttle, the bike feels jerky/not smooth. Is this standard behaviour on this bike? When I do accelerate however, it pulls cleanly and...

    Hello from Costa Del Cymru!

Hello to you all. If it wasn't that hard to notice, my name's Luke  I recently picked up a 2015 MT-09 in Deep Armour with the Akro Ti can (AMAZING btw). I live in South Wales and I'm currently running the bike in, only 150 miles to go :D I can't wait to give it the beans! This thing feels...

    Handlebar ends protection

Just few pence: a ferrule intended for a walking stick but ideal at 1" size to protect the bar end in a drop. Have to keep a gap on the right hand side to ensure no interference with the throttle.

    Heavy throttle spring

Has anyone else noticed that the MT09 throttle is quite a heavy pull? This is separate to the snatch (which doesn't bother me) but I find I'm gripping the throttle quite hard which gets annoying. I've fitted stickier grips but wondered if it will ease up with more miles? It's done 2000 so far...

    Rich/Si flash

I have just got back home from getting my MT flashed by Simon. What can i say other than it's awesome. Best £200 i've spent on the bike so far, this is how the bike should have left the factory. It was a quick and painless process. I'm writing this as a complete novice in relation to ECU...

    Removing the throttle restrictor

I've been looking around for how to remove the restrictions on the MT07, and to my understanding there should only be a throttle restriction on the EU versions? I dont really understand how to remove it. I believe its the bracket over the throttle pulley with the finger that goes down and...

Hi Can I call on your expertise, MT09 been in the garage for winter, those of you getting the Factory flash from Yamaha, as they say, are you keeping the GT Throttle tamer, or going back to standard plastic one. Thanks

After all the recommendations I have kevs O2 mod on the way , but was at the local yamaha dealer to pick up some givi tankbag stuff and chatting to their chief machninc said I was having a few issues and he popped...

    The throttle snatch

Hi so my new babe had her first run out yesterday did about 100 miles , and I quickly noticed that in standard mode when rolling the throttle open to power up out of the corners it was very jerky and nearly ended up in the hedge a couple of times . Now I know this is a fairly well known problem...

    sideways throttle slack fixed

Not sure if all mt09s are the same but mine had a lot of sideways movement. Bought a bag of various sized and thickness o rings from b&q from the plumbing dept. One of them was perfect. Rolled it over the throttle grip and stretched it over the flanged part. Making sure it sat between the...

    choke problems on 1200 bandit

Apologies in advance for not talking 07’s and not really knowing best place to post this? I’m sure someone in the world will be able to resolve this problem. 1200 bandit: 1996 carbs obviously. I owned it for many years and then sold it to a mate around 7 years ago and it has been faultless all...

    more throttle adjustment ?

other than the adjuster behind the clocks is there anywhere else on the bike for adjusting the throttle play ? I must have stretched the cable putting the heated grips on and there isn't enough adjustment to take up the slack thanks

Worried about the software in the electronic throttle?

Worried about the software in the electronic throttle? Don't. I found this animation of it. Looks like there is a mechanical fail safe. http://media.yamaha-motor-europe.com/dwnl/dc/2006_YCC-T%20S-2.mp4
