I agree about the position. I got badly cut up on a busy roundabout today. Dozy b*tch was stationary in her lane one minute then suddenly decided to swap lanes right in front of me with no indication and presumably no mirrors. I was doing about 20 mph and had to brake hard to avoid a collision...
Did you drain the system and remove the pipes before painting or did you paint them in situ? Also have you any photos you are willing to post? I'm interested because mine are shabby and I may consider doing the same.
I ordered some matching female bullet connectors from eBay, chopped off the OEM connectors from the wiring harness and soldered on the new connectors. Maybe not what everyone wants to do but this was my solution.
There's a new motorcycle game called Ride coming out on 20th March 2015. I thought it might interest folk here because it's got loads of standard 2014 bikes from all the major manufacturers, including (of course) the MT-07 and MT-09.
Here's the official site: Ride Videogame
Here's the list of...
Like you the clear layer came off leaving the rest of the gunk behind. I used a hairdryer to soften and white spirit to get the rest off. Finally a thorough rinse with water and it was perfect.
Yeah I was nearly tempted to cancel my SC Project order. BUT... the only bit I really don't like is the cheap-looking carbon fibre thing they decided to screw to the front of it.
Agreed, that's why I posted it. It's utilitarian-looking (is that even a word), but at the same time there's something about it that suits the MT-07 funky looks. I think the 'marmite' factor definitely comes into play with this bike and the various accessories available.
Just thought it was worth posting this link for yet another new IXIL exhaust for the MT-07 about to hit the market, especially for anyone still deciding which aftermarket system to get. I can only find it on the IXIL USA site at the moment but I'm sure it will hit Europe soon as it does appear...
I'm putting in a warranty claim for mine as they are the only part on my bike that look like s**t after only a short time riding and cleaning it.
BTW if you powder coat these pipes, I'd recommend you mask off the short length past the flange that the O-Ring sits on in order to provide a smooth...
As a consequence of some recent threads discussing the negatives of the MT-07 (don't get me wrong they are very valid discussions e.g. rust) I thought we should redress the balance and remember what we love about this bike.
So name the first thing about the MT-07 that made you...
Referring to my post above showing the pipes. This has in fact NOT been caused by road salt but by SDoc100. I've proved this because the other day I looked at them before and after applying the SDoc100 for 5 minutes before washing off. Guess what, they're even worse now  I'm posting a...
