Navigation apps for the phone (android)

HI there, anyone using a phone app for navigation when touring and what's your thoughts?

I've read up on a few but the reviews aren't the greatest, just wondering if anyone can recommend one.

I have the free app Navigator, but only as backup. Using open source maps

I have used few times Google maps. Not for touring though. The big advantage of Google maps to me is I can plan exact route on Google maps on my PC in advance.

Then send it to my phone.

When you are at home make sure you download the maps for the area you are going to.

I also use google map, tweak the route on my PC, then send it to my phone. Used it today for a 150 mile ride, only problem my phone runs down really quick while using maps. Went flat within 5 and a half hours, usually lasts up to 2 days. Really need a power source plugged into the bike if your going any distance

Over on the FZ6 forum they seemed to have come to the same conclusion.

of course they're riding state side, so I don't know if that makes a difference.
