Black tracer tank care

Hi all I'm new here and have recently bought a 2017 black tracer,I'm just wondering is it OK to polish the black tank as it doesn't have a high gloss finish ?
Here is a pic of my bike with Givi engine bars fitted

Yea thats what prompted me to ask the question,my local dealer says its OK to polish as its not a true matte.?
I'm just wondering what other people do to protect their paintwork with this colour bike.

I have the Matt Grey paint and use this Motul E11 Matte Surface Clean - 400ml - SPORTSBIKESHOP. Been using it for 15 months now and would recommend it.
