Busted Engine

the local Yamaha dealer said that that there is no way they'll take responsibility for my engine due to the exhaust and fuelling changes that I've done

Sorry to hear all this Relz, had been a long time since I was on the forum.
I assume you have an Akra from Yamaha. Which fuelling settings did you do? Could that fact only have caused this dammage?
I also ride with the Akra, should I be worried?

Guess what?

I just got a private message from another guy in Israel who had the same experience last night. Was just driving around when suddenly *crack*, smoke everywhere and a hole in the engine block...
I still don't know the exact details regarding number of kilometers ridden on the bike, age, modifications etc. But I will follow it up.

Has anyone else experienced such engine failure, since I posted my case?

I'd really like to know if this is becoming a pattern, or a just a (couple of) streak(s) of bad luck.

Just got first details:
33000km, totally stock bike.

A bit lower down, but definitely looks familiar:

there is a recall for the shift arm, because the end can break off and seize the engine. Could it be connected?

Nasty.
Sorry to read (and see) of the mess.
I am 27000 km on my 2014 MT, no issues up to now.
The transmission mod was carried out not long after I had the bike.
Hope you get back on the road soon.
