    SC Project Exhaust fitted

Most if not all here haven't got the control unit. The general feeling is that the built in ECU will do it's thing so that the correct mixture is delivered. However, the only way to be sure is a dyno graph with and without the unit, and unfortunately SC have not/will not publish one (despite my...

    Pyramid rear hugger extender

Any chance of a photo? This is what I'm looking to do.

    Ermax Tail Tidy

I started a couple of threads on it a while back. It does look great :D http://www.motorcycle-talk.net/forum/mt-07-fz-07-modifications/926-rear.html http://www.motorcycle-talk.net/forum/mt-07-fz-07-modifications/881-ermax-white-black-satin.html

    tank shroud removal

It's definitely a useful video for tank panel removal newbies. I've done it a few times now and you kinda get the knack of it :) Kevin, I've got one tip for you though. You don't have to remove that metal plate above the battery in order to remove the plastic 'rivet' underneath the panel. They...

    Fuel...........

Yamaha's definition of premium is misleading in the UK, our ordinary unleaded falls within the 'premium' category. Ordinary unleaded petrol in the UK has an octane rating of 95, super unleaded 98. You are fine with normal unleaded, the only practical reason to go higher is if the engine is...

    Brake & Clutch Levers

    Agreed :)

    Brake & Clutch Levers

Thinking about it, this could be a factor. Obviously with the lever at position 1 very close to the bar there is not as much travel, therefore not pulling the clutch plates as far apart. With a much 'thinner' layer of oil between the plates in position 1 as opposed to say position 5, your wheel...

    Brake & Clutch Levers

Igor, your problem sounds strange. The lever settings should have nothing to do with the clutch cable operation, they should only adjust the span of the lever. The clutch cable free play (which in turn determines the biting point of the clutch) is adjusted by a combination of the knurled wheel...

I've just noticed something about this forum

Well said Noggie. BTW your bike looks stupid :p ;)

    Hello

Hi Dave, welcome to the forum. I'm not far from you in South Normanton, just off J28.

    Sports Handlebars?

All very useful thanks guys. I'll be looking at doing this mod soon. Donut, I'm a bit far away in Derbyshire, but thanks very much for the offer :)

    Sports Handlebars?

RichMT/And30ers Would either of you be prepared to write a mini-tutorial on fitting the Renthal ultra lows? It's a mod I'd also like to do to get a bit more weight over the front end. I know you've both given the odd snippet of information but I'm just a tad nervous removing...

    Akrapovic carbon technical question

Yes and yes again!! The O-rings are the exhaust gaskets and you definitely need these to provide a seal between the engine and exhaust. TBH if you haven't installed them I'd be surprised if you didn't hear it blowing quite badly around the exhaust manifold area.

    Chroming of Front Water Pipes

I first mentioned it to the dealer before I realised it was the SDoc, so I er... *cough* er... just said I thought it was unacceptable that the pipes were discoloured after only 100 miles on the road ;) The rest of the bike was/still is immaculate.

    Chroming of Front Water Pipes

I managed to get the water pipes replaced under warranty. Happy days :D

    Hello from Essex UK

Hi and welcome. I test rode both bikes last year and came to exactly the same conclusion. I just didn't 'get on' with the MT-09 but the 07 was fun fun fun and bought a massive smile to my face.

    Yamaha MT 07 - TRACER (PS-mockup)

I think it's a beautiful bike left naked, that's why I bought it. Personally I don't get the whole belly pan/ front fairing thing, it just adds ugly plastic to a beautiful piece of machinery. Yeah I know... each to their own, yours Grumpy-Gills :p

Arrow "shortie" exhaust concerns and discussion.

There appears to be so much mis-direction given by dealers on the warranty issue. The bottom line is the exhaust will be covered by the exhaust manufacturers warranty but the rest of the bike is still covered by the bike manufactuers warranty UNLESS they can prove that any damage to the bike was...

    license plate holder

It's madness that they put it that way round. Usually it's the non-chain side (exhaust side) that better shows off the look of a bike. EDIT Just seen the price - madness :p
