What's done on 6000 mile service?

At least make an oil change before you store it for winter by yourself... put 2,5 liters without change the oil filter, run the engine for some minutes and will be fine. Don't worry about CCT as yamaha has (silently) extend the warranty especially for this item from 2 years to 4 years after...

We are both a bit Sore

Also ask for a doctor to visit you and have a x-ray for sure... paramedics are not doctors and at the time of accident you've been warm and full of adrenaline... Wish you all the best for the future !

What's done on 6000 mile service?

The Throtle Bodies need balancing every 10Kkm/6Kml.. Not only because the service manual said. If you stay beside your mechanic when is servicing your triple you'll see by your own eyes the difference at the flow in each cylinder. They are OK only when they are going equal. For best results is...

Changing the CO settings in the DIAG menu

No harm but if you want to get the best of your engine you must adjust the CO at a specific number for eachone of the 3 cylinders. To put C1 - C2 - C3 in the same number is something very general and works more as "placebo effect" than real smooth delivery of power. Take a look at the right...

Me on lonely road dreaming about being V. Rossi

Nice nature but not curvy roads are boring... Seems like you were trying to respect the speed limits... there is no other reason in my mind that you were riding so slow... in these roads its easy to keep speeding at 180-200km, easily for someone who trust his riding skills. If i was you i would...

    Mt 09 oil lamp

As i saw in the manual, Yamaha suggests to change the engine oil once a year even if the bike hasn't had done many km/mph... So, oil wears from different factors. Also i believe that Yamalube isn't a "best quality" oil and the more mileage we do the better oil our engines need.

FS M-09 Sport Tracker Tank Pads

Same as here... i ordered them via yamaha official dealer but they sent me the front plastic pads of the tank which are already on the tanks of all our mt-09s. The strange thing is that the pads of Street Tracker we are looking for, doesn't have code number as they appear in yami's official...

    Mt 09 oil lamp

Because of Yamaha suggests oil changes every 10.000km i change every 5K. In my previous DL650 i changed it every 3K as manual writen every 6K and i did the same in every thumper i owned. All my bikes were delivered to the next owner in superior condition even with many km on the odo... I spent...

Mine is '14 model, stock pipe, DNA filter, first ECU map. Yesterday i test it side by side on the road with another MT-09 '15 model, deep armour, equipped with carbon Akrapovic and DNA filter. We are running side by side with the difference that i was traveling on the back wheel all of the run...

    newbie

Welcome! You did the right choice! Keep in mind that the first models are equipped with the "agressive" map of yamaha and all the newer versions are tammed compare to old. If suggests you to remape your ECU with the free yamaha map you can deny gently and polite.. then you'll never regret it! In...

    Throttle Problems

My mind goes to famous TC... this is how it reacts when the traction is lost. So, a faulty TC sensor maybe is the cause of that IMO..

    Mt 09 oil lamp

It means low oil level.. try to add some 100cc-200cc of oil and it will be ok. The oil lamp was lighted up once in mine after service/oil filter change. It happened as i was accelerating the bike on a uphill road... after a couple of seconds was light off. I check the oil level and put about...

Changing the CO settings in the DIAG menu

Yesterday my bike had its 30.000km service, when my mechanic drilled small holes on the 3 exhaust pipes and did exhaust gas analysis, so he gave different adjustments at -CO- settings for each cylinder. According Yamaha, the correct is (on stock engine) to have no more than 4% of CO in exhaust...
