Had the Bike out for a hard run earlier this evening - I was sitting at work stressed out, looking at the clear blue sky and thought "fcuk it I'm off " and took it down the coast road before rush hour kicked in proper for my first real balls out run since the highside debacle to blow off a bit of steam.

JEEZUS H CHRIST- ITS BOUNCY IN THE TWISTIES!!!!!

Think I'm going to have to spend a day fiddling. Can't really afford upgrading suspension at moment but I really wasn't happy it was like sitting on a rocking horse!

Hope fiddling with it sorts it??

From now on I shall name him "Tigger"

Yearp, get it tweaked, full up in rear, and close to full up on front, and it's a world to difference.

Enjoy after tweaks :)

I found the same thing. Front end is like a pogo stick when your hammering it :). I'd be interested to hear what settings people are running with the standard suspension too

It was like a seesaw tbh. Left a big pucker mark on my seat after a particularly tight right handed with a few bumps. Made me back right off for the next few must admit. Definately need to do something. It's ok at "lower" speeds soaks up the bumps no probs but when pushed neither of us was happy. Maybe I'm just going soft, years gone by I'd've prob ridden through it regardless maybe the high-side/ broken wrist/toe/wallet has affected me more than I know!! Now where's me tartan slippers and wurthers originals????

I only just recently adjusted my suspension, as I was trying a pillion on as well.
Front: adjusted "rings", so only three showing. Rebound, close total, then 1 1/2 round out again.
Rear: Full up on 7th notch for preload, rebound in, 1 1/2 turn out
With 200kg riders on, it behaved very very well, compared to the standard settings, the bike was born with.

I need to adjust mine up too, way too soft. Where is the rear rebound adj? I haven't even looked as yet

@ SuperMotoBoy

The manual states maximum loading 177Kg (390lb) inc rider, passenger, cargo & accessories, this made me think twice about pillioning.
Be careful what you put out there or you could kiss your warranty good bye..

Seems a bit full on MTB? I'd be wary of that much preload but if it work the suspension must really be on the cheap side and not The Dark Side (that slogan makes me cringe!!)

Gonna spend a day playing with my fiddly bits I still have an old "pull out" on setting up from The Triumph Herald (MCN) which helped me dial my blade in a few years ago. Not looking forward to it though it's a PITA

I started working on the preload first.
Front 3 rings visible is not enough for my 80kg.
Rear 5th notch is not bad, but I will test 6th notch the next time.
When the preload is ok I start working on the rebound.

75kgs
3.5 rings out on front preload, 1 turn rebound out on front
second hardest spring pre load on rear and 1.2 turns out
It's working better than before but I'll spend some money on a cartridge kit and shock when I can afford it.

I'm 83kgs. I wound it in till only 2 rings are showing on the preload and all the way tight on the rebound.
The rear shock is cranked rite up to 7 and the rebound all the way tight and it works fantastic for me

I tried setting it up the way I've set up my GSXR, Tuono, Hayabusa and it wasn't handling at all, I found I had to set it up stiff to make it compliant on the road.
I started at 25-30mm sag and started tweaking from there, I'm guessing sag would be closer to 20mm or less now.
There's a definite sweet spot where the rebound works and doesn't work a quarter turn either side.

It's a personal thing tbh, 75kg i have both on Max at the Back, and one ring showing on the front with a half preload away from max.

I remember the first a set of lights i got to after leaving the dealer (factory settings), i was so f**king embarassed beacuse the bike was like a rocking horse when i drew to a stop!

We weigh the same. Currently I think I'm on 4-5 rings front, have to check to make sure exactly and stock rebound. Rear haven't touched it yet. Will try your settings to see how it handles.
